WebOS Enyo — Contribution to HP
Enyo – a recurrent Javascript frame for webOS – has been demonstrated by HP. The main purpose of the new program is to simplify the task of app developers. With Enyo it has become easier to adapt apps for smartphones and tablets at the same time, and early next year apps developers will get early access to the software development kit.
Run by Enyo, applications will perform on a higher speed; an app that used to take up to eight seconds to open now should start in just one. Enyo will contribute a lot to application developments, as the code amount has been reduced, and due to the modular structure of the framework developers will be allowed to create more flexible interfaces and reuse an already written code. With the new webOS version app developers eventually can build applications in a way that appeals to them and use the tools they like.
In fact this is what has become the key point for any mobile platform – attracting apps developers, due to this the size really matters, and this is how Enyo offers new opportunities being adaptable for any size of a screen. Enyo developers were aimed at delivering a framework that would perform well on resource-constrained gadgets. Now another generation of mobile platforms based on webOS is on the way.
