A rumor has been flowing that the Finnish multinational communications corporation was about to undergo drastic changes. The new Chairman of the company, Stephen Elop, was believed to be intending to change the platform for Nokia’s smartphones. The company has been having trouble with the Symbian OS which has been naturally holding back the potential of Nokia.

Gadget lovers are no doubt excited about their next New Year gift. LG has officially announced the upcoming launch of the first world dual-core Android-powered smartphone in 2011. LG Optimus 2x will be available in Korea in January of 2011, whereupon the sales around the world will begin.

Enyo – a recurrent Javascript frame for webOS – has been demonstrated by HP. The main purpose of the new program is to simplify the task of app developers. With Enyo it has become easier to adapt apps for smartphones and tablets at the same time, and early next year apps developers will get early access to the software development kit.

At least now there is something to foster Windows Mobile application development. Although both Apple and Google did not cease to encourage their developers with numerous releases and splendid news, Microsoft kept haughtily silent, though Steve Ballmer really had promised lots of magic and wonders last Christmas.
